The latest update of Vintner has been released with a few minor fixes and improvements:

A couple months ago we released our new Checkout screens and added the ability to browse and add more products. Now customers can tap on individual products to reveal their Tries/Likes and Tasting Notes (ie. if they used the WithWine app during their wine tasting) as well as any Product Details you have setup (eg. Food pairing) and any images or PDFs (eg. previous vintages):

This is all in an effort to help customers buy with confidence and/or remember what they've enjoyed offline and make it easier for them to buy more of it again online.
For those using Editable Winemakers' Selection (Winery initiated) clubs, you can now add new members to an existing club run instead of needing to put them in their own seperate club run.
Simply select the members and then within the Bulk Actions button there's a new option:

Next a modal will pop up in which you can select which club run you want those members to be added to:

Click Add, and those members will be emailed and charged per normal.
Almost as soon as we released our email builder, this feature was requested... so we're pleased to let you know it's now been added:

Previously if you had a "Do not ship" rule set, the system would simply say that shipping wasn't available. Now you can customise that messaging:

Which displays to the Customer (or winery user) on the Checkout screen:

Now there is a toggle to remove Sales Taxes from an order and you can also add Notes to an order (which will appear in the Orders screen):

Previously when doing a Stock Movement or Transfer, the timestamp used was the current point in time; but let's say you wanted some movements to be attributed to last financial year but you didn't get around to inputting the data until this financial year... now you can set a custom date for the movement:

Need to see quickly how long someone's been a member and who signed them up? That is now clickable:

This update for Vintner incorporates a newly released version of Stripe's SDK for handling Terminal discoverability and reconnection which drastically improves the speeds of both.
Firstly, rather than Vintner cycling through and looking for each different card reader type (eg. first look for Bluetooth readers, then look for Internet readers, then look for Tap to Pay on iPhone readers) you can now select which specific types of reader/s you want Vintner to search for.
Secondly, you'll notice the time to find and connect to a reader has been reduced substantially.
Finally, when opening Vintner from a sleep / closed state, the reconnection is now also almost instant.
Here's a video of how fast it is at discovering and connecting to readers:

To redeem a Gift Card, simply long press on the green Charge button, the same way you would to reveal additional payment methods. In the menu you will now see "Gift Card":

When using the feature for the first time, you will be asked to provide Vintner with access to the Camera > tap "Allow" (Note: if you select Don't Allow, the Gift Card redemption feature will not work):

Now simply scan the QR that's on the customer's Gift Card and tap the green Redeem button:

You can then tap the green Charge button to pay off the remaining balance using the card reader or...
But let's say you didn't want to pay off the remaining balance with the card reader... the customer also had $100 Cash:
In that scenario you would long press on the green Charge button again > select Cash > type in $100 > then tap Tender... you can keep splitting between different payment types until the balance for the order is brought down to $0.
If you want to split between multiple credit cards, long press on the green Charge button > select Card > delete the defaulted amount to collect (which is the balance) and type in the amount you wish to charge customer card #1 > that will fire up the terminal to collect the funds > then repeat.
WithWine keeps track of a Gift Card's original value and its current balance. If $50 of a $100 Gift Card has already been used, Vintner will display that to you. Similarly, if the customer only wants to use a portion of the Gift Card's remaining value, you can long press on the green Redeem button to nominate a value they wish to use toward the order:

You can view a list of Transactions against an Order by tapping on the information "i" within the Cart Summary:

If you make a mistake, you can tap on this and swipe from right to left to refund one or all of the transactions:

The following screens have been updated:
Obviously the designs are easy on the eye but we've added additional functionality to make the screens more functional and easier for customers.
With our first BETA update to the Checkout screen, we added the ability for customers to add more of what was already in their Cart... now they can browse and add additional products from within the Checkout screen - they don't need to go back to your website:

They can text search and/or filter by product Type, Varietal, and we've even added any eCommerce Filters you've created (from within Settings > Products > Product Lists):

All pricing - including all the different discount types and Shipping, is calculated live and on the fly.
For the Wine Club Signup, Updates and Selections screens, many of our clients would offer longer lists of available products; so the search and filters have also been added to those screens also:

To make the most of these new Club Signup screens, the next update of Vintner POS will display them full-screen, rather than in a modal.
As part of this release, the Selection page for "editable winemakers selection" type clubs has also been released:

As well as an updated Gift Card Redemption screen that now displays a preview of the Gift Card value and expiration prior to the final redemption step:

Along with the new functionality within the customer facing Checkout screen, we've created a winery facing version to become the new Phone / Back Office sales interface.
You'll see now when you click Create Order within a customer's profile you're now taken to a full-screen interface - rather than a pokey modal - and everything is displayed and editable within one screen rather than you needing to work through multiple steps then getting to the Checkout screen:

We've also added more per-product discounting options:

You'll notice we've included Stock counts and have also added SKU codes.
Our intention with these changes is to make WithWine much more user friendly for those within your business responsible for driving additional sales via over the phone, and especially for your third party telesales partner that logs into your WithWine account to do bulk telesales campaigns.
In the past, once an Order was finalised, that was that, and if you needed to compete a Partial Refund, you couldn't.
Now you can edit completed orders:
And the system can take care of:
It starts within the Orders screen where each Order now has a new Revise Order button:

Clicking on that opens up the familiar winery-facing Checkout screen where you can make any/all adjustments:

Included here is the ability to Refund / Partially Refund from existing payments (of multiple types) and/or charge extra (if it's a revision up):

As you can see, one of the nice things about this update is that the one unified screen is being used for customer Checkout, Phone/Back Office sales and Order Revisions - fewer screens to learn, more familiarity and speedier processes.
When the Revision is completed you'll see it linked to the original order on the main Orders list:

...and in the Order detail side panel:

One year ago we released Surcharges. Now you can schedule them. Eg:
To add a Surcharge:
Within Settings > My Brand > click on Taxes & Surcharges:

When you click into Taxes & Surcharges, the page defaults to Taxes but you can click on the pink button up the top to instead work on Surcharges:

If you click on Add Surcharge, you are then presented with this form, in which you can fill in the details of your new Surcharge product:

Generally, when charging a Surcharge you need to add Tax to the surcharge amount, but only if the Surcharge is being applied to a taxable item. This is what the "Apportioned based on line items" option is for.
Eg. If an order is for $100 of wine, and a $10 surcharge is applied to the order, sales tax would be added (or included) to the entire $110. But if $50 of the order was for wine and the other $50 for an item on which sales tax isn't added (eg. bottles of water), sales tax would only be added to $5 of the $10 Surcharge.
|
Wine $10 (attracts sales tax) |
10% surcharge = $1 |
8.5% tax on products and surcharge = $11 x 1.085 = $11.94 |
|
Water $10 (doesn't attract sales tax) |
10% surcharge = $1 |
8.5% tax on surcharge = NA |
|
Cart = $20 |
Surcharges = $2 |
Amount to pay = $22.94 |
Once that's done, you can set a default Surcharge for all Channels or individual Channels:

But if you want to apply a Surcharge to customers in a particular state you can Add Country then set a Surcharge to individual states:

Now to apply a Schedule to a Surcharge:
Within Settings > My Brand > Taxes > Click on Surcharge Schedule:

Click on Add Schedule:

Then select the parameters you want to apply for the Schedule:

Once that's done, you can go into your available Surcharges and apply the Schedule:

We've made some changes to the Customer profile side panel:

Firstly, up the top we've added a Summary that shows the customer's Lifetime Value (LTV), their total number of Orders and their Average Order Value. This is so you can see some key statistics at a glance when you're on the phone with a Customer:

Next, if that customer is a Club Member, we now display how long they've been a member instead of who signed them up (that is still visible within the Activity Feed):

Five months ago, we released a new Email Builder with the much-liked ability to email customers pre-built Carts - where you can build the shopping cart for the customer and when they click on the Checkout button, it bypasses your website and takes them direct to Checkout:

People have loved this capability since its release, and now we've taken it further.
Imagine you were at a wine festival and you wanted to reengage with all attendees (because Vintner makes it easy to capture their contact details) with a communication saying "It was nice meeting you today at [Festival Name] - if in hindsight there was anything you could have / should have bought, here are the wines we were pouring..."
Now when you add a product to a Cart block, the default is 0 products instead of 1; giving you the ability to curate a list of Featured Products to customers:

When the customer clicks on the Call to Action button (however you decide to label it) they will be taken direct to the Checkout where they can add products form that list direct to their Cart:

And of course, if they wanted to add more products beyond what you've sent them, they can use the "Add more products" button.
If you wanted to run a promotion along the lines of "Buy [count] of one of these products and you'll get a free Baseball Cap" you can select the wines you want them to buy, add x1 Baseball Cap to the Cart and attach a Coupon Code for the cap that will be auto applied at Checkout:

Version 1.2.6 is now available on the App Store, adding support for Pinned Notes:

Back Office:
Vintner POS:
Now within Settings > Products you can select individual products and click in the new Bulk Actions button in the top right corner of the screen and Archive them:

We're sure many of you will enjoy cleaning up your product portfolios 😊
As you know, a Product can have multiple Variations linked to it: eg. a 750ml bottle of Shiraz can have a 150ml Glass variation and a 1500ml Magnum variation.
Come vintage roll, managing (creating and Archiving) all these Variations became a slow process... so we have now made it so when creating New Vintages or Archiving a Product, it asks if you'd also like to create new vintages and/or archive any linked Variations also:

Now you can use previously sent emails as a Template for a new draft:

You'll notice also that the actual email content displays rather than a "skeleton" which makes it easier to find what you're after, quickly.
There are also now more layout options for Carts. At launch the product tiles would default to a Horizontal layout:

But now there are more options including a Vertical layout:

You can also edit the product image sizes, remove borders, edit the corner radius of borders and more:

We have reworked the Tasks screen to make it more useful and friendly:

Now the screen defaults to show only Tasks assigned to you (the logged in user) that are Due during the month displayed on the screen.
You can now see when a Task is Due, who it's assigned to and what it's associated with at a glance:

If the Task is associated with an object (A Customer, an Order or an Email), clicking on the Task will open that object (eg. the Customer's profile) so you can work on it without needing to leave the Tasks screen:

And you're able to quickly scroll through past and present months to view Tasks that fall within those periods:

Before, if you'd scrolled your way down through the Orders, Customers or Club Members screen and clicked on something to open more detail in the side-panel, when clicking Back, it would take you back to the top of the list in the main page (which made quickly looking/checking for something cumbersome).
Now the two sides of the screen are independently scrollable and clicking Back takes you back to where you were originally scrolled down to:

Version 1.2.5 is now available on the App Store with the following improvements:
Now if a customer has multiple addresses on file, you can select from them when making an order For Delivery:
You can also now verify / double check the final delivery address from within the Cart by tapping on the "i":
Now when reviewing historical orders, you can see which Channel they were placed via (POS, Website, Club, Back Office):

We've added a new Status indicator so it's easier to tell if you are / aren't on the latest version of Vintner POS:
And we've added the release notes so everyone can stay up to date with what's in the latest version 😊
We hope you enjoy these additions!
...and just in time for Black Friday!
We've given a few of the Back-Office screens a bit of a revamp - less pink, more white space, better spacing, more information and prettier loading spinners (very important!).
Let's start with the Orders screen where everything is condensed within narrower rows so you can fit more on one screen. We've also cleaned up a bunch of the labels (got a few more additions planned) and made the Order Detail side panel cleaner:

The same can be said of the Club Members and Customers screens:

On the Customer's screens, we've cleaned up the info labels and also made them more useful:

We think you'll like this one... a lot.
Our previous email builder was initially intended for quick and simple messaging. It was really good for this... but it wasn't well suited for more elaborate content. Our new email builder is.
Build emails using a range of different "blocks". These include headings, text blocks, images, buttons (yay!), columns, images and HTML blocks:

Those that want to send club selection emails with a little more flair than the system generated ones will love that you can now insert Merge Fields into buttons and style and place them however you like:

When it comes to increasing sales conversions on email campaigns, one of the biggest problems is that the customer still has to do a lot of heavy lifting:
"Hey we've got this great offer... all you need to do is go to our website, add the product to the cart, and get yourself to Checkout."
What if you could do the heavy lifting for them?
That's why the coolest block is the Cart block, where you can build and embed a pre-filled shopping cart with a Checkout button that takes customers directly to the Checkout screen for the quickest purchase possible (i.e. it by-passes your website). You can even attach Coupon Codes:

You can add multiple Carts to one email:

If they've already got an account, or they're already in the WithWine app, or they've already for a login authentication token for your website thanks to the WithWine login (which almost 200,000 people do), when they click on Checkout from the email, they'll only have one more click to do on the Checkout screen, which is to Confirm the payment:

If customers want to add more to their Cart than what you've pre-filled for them before doing that though, they can do that from the Checkout screen itself too:

You can select from a range of templates we've built for you or you can create your own and use them for next time:

(For those who want to continue using HTML templates from external builders, we've kept the old composer there behind a new dropdown beside the Email button

Because you can now save Templates and (more easily) save Drafts, etc. we've made a few tweaks to the old "Sent Emails" screen, now naming it merely the "Emails" screen and adding more filters:

We'll produce a video deep-diving into the new email builder and share it with you in the coming weeks.
And now onto some great additions to Vintner POS:

You can now add Notes to an Order while it's currently in Draft and after it's been completed:

You can even respond to Notes within Vintner:

You can also add a Delay Dispatch date to an Order before and after its completion:

Thank you Rieslingfreak for these excellent suggestions.
One of the big differences between wwPOS and Vintner is that on the old POS you could add the customer details to the Order after it was completed (via the Receipt screen) while on Vintner, you'd do it before the order was completed. We didn't do a Receipt screen in Vintner in an effort to reduce the number of screens/clicks staff had to take to get an order completed, but it turns out some customers would change their mind after it was too late... so now we've made it so you can also add their details after the order's completed:

Thank you Rieslingfreak, Cassegrain, Heifer Station and an array of others for this feedback!
Now when you Park an Order, you can give it a Title:

Thank you Punt Road for this suggestion.
In preparation for the launch of Stripe's new card reader - the SIM card-enabled S710 - Vintner is now on the latest version of Stripe's SDK. For those of you who don't know, the S700 and S710 are internet enabled readers with a large and sexy screen. It can also present nicely when paired with a dedicated charging dock:

This adds to the array of other payment terminals available to use with Vintner:

A few bugs - mostly to do with Addresses - crept into the previous update. They have now been fixed.
Thank you Wise Wine, Grosset, Rieslingfreak and Saddlers Creek for identifying those for us!
OK, OK so this isn't a big deal... but we like little details like these:

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about these updates (or anything else WithWine), as always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
A couple months ago, we added the ability for those running Editable Winemakers Selection clubs, to customise the order in which products are displayed in the selection form.
We have now added the same thing for those running Recurring / Standing Order wine clubs.
When you head into the club's Settings page, when you are in the "Products Available for Selection" section, you can now drag and drop (or click up/down) the products into the order you'd like the list presented to customers.
Eg. You might want all the available Mixes to appear at the top of the list and the individual bottles below:

So then the Selection List looks like this:

We always figured you didn't really need to entirely remove a customer from the CRM given that the system always obeyed the Subscribed to Mailing List Yes/No rules no matter which tab you were on... but it turns out some people do want to simply disappear some contacts; so now you can do that:

In the Customers screen, you can now filter to see who has / hasn't got a phone number attached to their CRM Contact Card under the Who Have category:

And you can filter by more variations of Club Member statuses under the Who Are category:

Speaking of Filters, we fixed a bug in the Club Members screen which caused some people who weren't in an active club run, to be included when filtering by who have a Customised Selection vs those who are getting the Default Order.
Stay tuned as we have some great updates for Vintner to announce shortly!
Lots of nice little improvements:
Within our new Checkout and Club Signup screens (currently in voluntary BETA), we took the opportunity to make a few improvements...
The Phone Number field now has the country code prefix and proper formatting. If the winery is in Australia, it defaults to the Australian prefix, if the winery is in the US it defaults to the US prefix. This will help make phone numbers nice and clean for some future plans we have.

Next up, the date picker we had in the original form for the Date of Birth field was way to painful and slow to fill in - especially for quickly signing up new members via Vintner POS - so we've changed it so now a customer only needs to type in the appropriate numbers. They don't need to tab between DD/MM/YYYY either... they can just rapid fire type in 1010201 and the form will format it correctly to 10/10/2001.
For wineries in Australia the format is DD/MM/YYYY and for our American clients it's MM/DD/YYYY (even though that's as logical to us as the imperial system of measurement 😝)
The credit card field on the original form also needed too many taps to jump from the card number field, to the expiry field to the CVC field... so that's been updated to a single field entry form:

DID YOU KNOW (side note): for customers wanting to join your Wine Club but only rocking credit cards in their Apple Wallet, in Apple's recent update to iOS26, Apple Wallet customers can now find/reveal their card number by tapping this button:

We've made some improvements for those sending emails using their own HTML templates. Firstly, we've made the email composer full screen. Secondly, when you opt to use your own Header and Footer, a new Tab appears where you can paste in your HTML:

In the next Content tab, you can preview it. We've got a few more improvements to the composer in the works, so watch this space!
Now you can filter your Customers screen to see who Unsubscribed from your mailing list:

When you add a Note or Task to a customer's profile, it's added to their Activity Feed:

When sending Pickup Reminder emails, you can add a custom message:

Which goes here:

For Australian clients, when we updated our plugin with Australia Post, Australia Post (for some very questionable reason) made it so you have to download the labels within 24 hours of purchasing them. To get around this annoyance, we made it so instead of retrieving the labels from AP, we now save them to our own database so you can download them again whenever you want.
